"Media of Seven at Large" a show bringing together 8 artists from across the region, opened from 7-9 p.m. August 5, at the Nelson Fine Art Center, 324 East Main Street.  A showcase of painting, photography and new media, "Media of Seven at Large" represented a broad variety of artistic talent and experience. From recent graduates to artists who have been honing their skills and ideas for decades, this show welcomed several new faces to the gallery, from Knoxville to Northern Virginia.

Many of the artists represented in "Media of Seven at Large" had shown their work extensively in states including Arkansas, New York, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida and Virginia just to name a few. Several of the artists are self taught while several are degree holding, they were: Don Dudenbostel, Cynthia Tollefsrud, Richard Reading, Jamie Osborne, Jessica Williams, Trey Henson, Fred Kliner, and Sam Mays.

Live jazz piano will be provided at Nelson's by internationally known pianist Lenore Raphael, previewing a few selections of her "Jazz at the Carnegie" show the following Saturday night.
